Brad Phillips, owner of Studio 101, attributes a lot of his success in producing music to his education at Nashville's Belmont University, not just the classes, but the hands-on experiences with studio sessions, music publishers and internships he had.  He was able to get a well-rounded and practical education that has helped him take an artist's tiny, rough idea of a song and with the artist, create an amazing final product, a polished song that brings joy to the artist when they hear it.

The Stories of the Upstate™ #213: (Meredith Piper) "I dressed to the beat of my own drum as a teen and I can't say that I always looked good."

Story #213 comes from Greenville artist, Meredith Piper.

Meredith drew her own clothes on her paper dolls as a child.  She loved all the pre-school crafts with macaroni.  As a teen, she had her own fashion sense that included a lot of tie-dyed clothes, so is it any wonder that she now has an art studio in downtown Greenville SC where you can see her painting landscapes in oil paint or weaving on a loom for one of her encased textile collection.  Meredith Piper is truly living her dream.
